Linux の場合 uptime と同じことが /proc/uptime で取得できるらしい。

Uptime - Wikipedia

The first number is the total number of seconds the system has been up. The second number is how much of that time the machine has spent idle, in seconds.

Linux じゃないけどやってみた。

rin@sakura[~]% uname -rsm
NetBSD 8.0 amd64

rin@sakura[~]% uptime
12:03AM  up 82 days, 22:42, 1 user, load averages: 1.28, 1.51, 1.54

rin@sakura[~]% cat /proc/uptime | awk '{print $1 / 3600 / 24}'
54.0878

uptime と /proc/uptime の値が異なる。
